TerroirSomme began in 2023 to meet a market desire for the improvement of wine related services for both personal home imbibement and business related beverage programs.  Current partnerships have included special events hosted at Enoteca Athena (Brunswick, ME), Bisto Milliard (Hallowell, ME), and The Harpswell Schoolhouse (Harpswell, ME), as well as spearheading Brunswick Wine Week, which featured community involvement from local establishments such as 555-North, Pub 165, The Abbey, Enoteca Athena, Vessel & Vine, Tess’s Market, Taverna Khione, Bao Bao, and Flight Deck Brewing.

Focused on bringing quality experiences to local and international clients, TerroirSomme seeks to highlight wines and beverages that have a sense of place and purpose, including indigenous varieties, biodynamic and organic practices, historical significance and quality over quantity.

russell Hewey

A local of Maine, Russell Hewey has vast experience in the restaurant profession, including food and beverage management, as well as service and hospitality.  Having spent much time living abroad and traveling through Europe, Mr. Hewey uses his expert knowledge and discerning palate to share his passion for food and beverage pairings, artisanal cocktail ingredients, and wine services in the hospitality industry. 

Constantly motivated to further his education, Mr. Hewey received his Certified Sommelier Certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas in February of 2023, and his WSET Level 3 Award in Wine with Merit in December 2024. He is currently working on passing the Advanced Sommelier Certificate. 

His cocktails have been featured in publications such as Forbes Magazine, Edible Maine, Portland Press Herald, and Out & About.

After acting as the Food and Beverage Director at Noble Kitchen + Bar (which, under his directorship, won a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2023 and in 2024), he is now the current Wine Director for Enoteca Athena in Brunswick, ME.
